An email hack in the midst of a closing on the purchase of a restaurant franchise resulted in the hacker walking away with all of the escrow funds.
In appealing a jury verdict against it over the incident, the escrow agent contended that apportioning the company 100% of the fault was a violation of Arizona law and that the buyer was not entitled to prejudgment interest or attorney fees.
